Financial Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA is free and quick application that will allow you to access the Federal Financial Aid to pay for education. In-order to qualify for federal aid you will need to complete the FAFSA application online at:  https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa  or the paper application available at the school.  Students completing the online application can use the IRS data retrieval tool for the financial parts of the FAFSA. This will ensure accurate information is being used to process your application. The FAFSA application is used to qualify you for a variety of  Federal Financial Aid programs. All students must meet certain eligibility requirements to receive federal student aid, regardless of age or income level.

There are 2 categories of federal student aid: grants and Student loans.

Grants are funds that doesn’t have to be repaid. There are two types of grants available through the U.S. Department of Education at our institutions:

  • Federal Pell Grant: Undergraduates with financial need can receive a Federal Pell Grant for up to 12 semesters (or a total of 6 years).

  • Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant: For students who are not PELL eligible due only to less financial need, but whose parent or guardian died as a result of military service in Iraq or Afghanistan after 9/11 and who were, at the time of death, less than 24 years of age.

Loans are borrowed Funds used for educational purposes and must be repaid. The loans available through the U.S. Department of Education are as follows:

  • Direct Subsidized Loans: For eligible undergraduates who have demonstrated financial need. The U.S. Department of Education pays interest while borrower is in school and during the grace period.

  • Direct Unsubsidized Loans: For eligible undergraduate, graduate and professional students. The borrower is responsible for all interest that is accrued during the loan period.

  • Direct PLUS Loans: For parents of eligible dependent undergraduate students. The borrower is responsible for all interest that is accrued during the loan period.

Our programs are approved for VA education benefits and we have been serving Veterans occupational training needs since 1984. Veterans as well as their dependents can access their benefits while attending.
